On Monday, Lee, from DWP came in for her final visit with us. This week we focused on our CV. Lee gave us all a sheet of paper with different questions on, we answered these questions to help us build up our CV. Lee, then spoke to it’s about how to make a good impression for an interview. We then spoke about interviews, and we thought of our own questions to ask Lee, and then we did more role play interviews.
After this, we all got presented with a certificate of participation for completing employability skills. Well done 10A!
After this, we did picture news. We learnt that Manchester United want to build the world’s greatest football stadium and we discussed whether we thought it was a good idea. The question was, “Should stadiums be used for more than football?”. Our task was to choose a football club or rugby team we are interested in and find out ways they help support their local community.
On Monday afternoon, we learnt about the Muslim celebration “Eid Al-Fitr”. Miss Bentham went through a PowerPoint that told us all about the festival which comes at the end of the month Ramadan. We then had a worksheet with different words and questions related to Eid, we used our IPads to research and then we recorded. After this, we designed our own Mehndi patterns.
On Tuesday morning we continued with our maths work, on shapes. In the afternoon we went to all seasons leisure centre and put all the tennis skills we’ve learnt into practice.
On Wednesday morning, some of us completed our independent bus journey. We got the bus to Leyland Tesco to buy some items for our food tech lesson on Thursday. The rest of us made up some 3D shapes from nets. We guessed what shapes they might make up, by looking at the faces of the shapes. In the afternoon, 2 of us went out for our work experience at brothers of charity, whilst the rest of us designed our own board game.
Grace and Ollie went to Liseux Hall to continue with their work experience. This week they worked in small group with cameras and tripod to film different parts of the grounds for their website. After Easter they are going to be shown how to edit the footage they took to make a small film.
On Thursday morning, we continued learning about shapes, angles and shape patterns. After this we went to Chorley in bloom, where we continued planting and repotting. watering and decorating greenery. In the afternoon we all made sausage butties, again we used our independent skills that we have been learning.
On Friday, we continued with our work experience, where some of us helped support the younger classes, whilst the rest of us did some gardening next to our classroom. Then we did the Jim Jam jog, this was so much fun! This afternoon we did golden time and then had celebration assembly. This weeks star of the week is Jake - for being positive and making his friends and teachers smile and for using great problem solving skills that are supporting his independence, well done Jake!
Have a great Easter 10A!
